California has some really excellent hot springs...  here is an example.  This natural hot spring located on Bureau of Land Management land in central California forms 3 pools rich in calcium bicarbonate.  2 other pools are located nearby.

After a good soak in the bath, it's nice to sit on the edge an view the colorful mineral formations.

Ph: 8.2        Temp: 41.5C   Three distinct soaking pools are filled by the mineral rich water flowing from above.   By night this is the perfect spot for stargazing.

A fine clay-like mud coats the bottom of each bath.  It can be used as a skin treatment and smells a bit like sulfer.

It's a good spot for couples.  With several baths, there is plenty of room.

There is an amazing rock formation around the area with the stream of hot water moving along the slits at the top of the mound.  The land around the hot spring is covered with snow-like calcium deposits all over the ground.   This is a perfect place for hot-springs bathing under the stars.

There is also a smaller bath a short distance from the main bath.  This bath has very clear water.  We could not measure the temperature or Ph in this bath because when we tried to some mystical properties of the water caused our equipment to go crazy and we could not obtain any reliable readings.

Jones Fountain of Life

Hot water shoots up from the geyser about every 20 minutes.

The water is carried down to the tub through a pipe.

The pipe can be adjusted to regulate the bath temperature

Nice views of the nature scenery from the bath

There's a wooden bench for changing.
